Lotus Flower

The Scent
Demeter Fragrance Library's Lotus Flower is a unique study of contrasts: an exotic floral that is soft and powdery, yet in no way overwhelming. Light green notes, and a gentle, watery undercurrent soften it further. A very peaceful scent that makes a statement. 

The Inspiration
We are fans of Buddhist and Hindu art, architecture and literature, where the Lotus Flower is symbolically important. People observed that after monsoon rains, the Lotus would grow upwards, from the bottom of  pools of water, so the flower came to represent immortality and resurrection.

Her petals brighten
In the beating sun's rays,
Glowing of tranquility.

The onlooker grows jealous
Venom green with envy.

While the lotus rests,
Mockingly green leaves.
