The Scent: Funeral Home is a blend of classic white flowers including lilies, carnations, gladiolus, chrysanthemums with stems and leaves, with a hint of mahogany and oriental carpet.
The Inspiration: This scent actually started out to be Flower Show. However, our founding perfumer personally did NOT like most white flowers so this was a tough fragrance for him to develop. When our founder, Christopher Gable smelled this one he exclaimed: 'it smells like my Grandfather's funeral... call it Funeral Home!'. So we did.

"Maybe one of my favorites from my order. I can't speak as to how accurately it smells like a funeral home- if I had to picture one, it would be like stepping into the entryway flanked by giant bouquets right after they mopped the tile floor and it is sparkling clean. It's cold but not necessarily "somber". Besides the floral I get mint and a hint of that wet dirt smell. Well suited for winter/spring but might have a nice cooling effect in the summer."

And after a while, it mellows to what I interpret as a sweet, creamy easter lily fragrance that I've never encountered in a perfume before, but absolutely love as lilies are my favorite flowers. "I've loved this one forever. In highschool we used to wait downstairs in the mornings for our friend, who lived with her family in an apartment over the family business: you guessdd it, it was a funeral home. Hundreds of morning spent standing around in a funeral home so I feel lile I have some authority whwn I say, you've nailed it. Also, grew up in my dad's shop: if you mix it with freesia, tou get a smell like the inside of a classic old car. I dont know why, but there it is, if thats something that brings up fond memories for you. Maybe the sort of dusty smell, plus the decades of perfumes, colognes, and cleaning products stacked up coupled with the old car air fresheners? Shipped well, very well packed with no leakage, and all these scents are amazingly priced."

He likes the other ones, except Dark Roses, because he thought it was too floral, so he gave that one to me. Even though Funeral Home has florals, he loves it! I just purchased the cologne spray for him. I like it too! It reminds me of the wooden pews and the floral arrangements at a funeral home. This scent nails it! "I'm an apprentice funeral director so I HAD to give this a try, lol. To me it smells exactly like going into a house built in the 1880s-1920s; that dusty-but-clean kindof vibe, the furniture and wood is old but well maintained and regularly cleaned with lemon oil polish. Grandma's canvas couch, old hardwood floors and railing, slightly floral, like the windows are open during spring, thrifted clothes. Overall very lovely and nostalgic."
