The Scent: This is something of a departure, as we indulge in a bit more scent fantasy and interpretation than usual. While you will experience a warm, golden metallic “tang”, this fragrance is grounded in light woods and exotic spices.
The Inspiration: Having made Myrrh and Frankincense, we were compelled to make a Gold fragrance.
The Story: On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they left for their own country by another path.

"Strongly reminds me of the smell of dial soap from when I was a child in the 60s. Specifically, it was the yellow bar--the gold one. (See what I did there?). It's a light scent, one reliable note, with a mere hint of something green, maybe a bit like crushed leaves. Pleasant, but not exciting to me. I'm not a blender, but this would definitely be useful for someone who is, possibly to use instead of oakmoss. Because really, if every note in a fragrance was energizing, you'd have a hot mess."

"Wow! Demeter has somehow managed to capture the scent of hot metal coins! Like the smell left on your hands if you've been sweating and handling coins. Reminds me of a vintage fragrance my mom would wear. I'm more impressed than anything else. Does not stand well on its own, it's more of a base or mid note. I like to pair it Gin & Tonic or Ambergris, but it also works for mellowing fruit fragrances like Monk Fruit or Asian Pear."
