Familiarity

"I got the Dark Flowers sample set, and Haunted Souls was one of my absolute favorites. This scent smells exactly like hugging my Mum, she never had this perfume but it just smells like familiar comfort. It also reminds me of being in the city, seeing a very classy, poised lady who's probably there for an important dinner at a restaurant I'd never be able to afford and walking by her thinking "God, she even smells as divine as she looks. " A gorgeously melancholy floral scent. I smell the jasmine the most. I'd say it lasted a good hour and a half, for me. Lasts well on clothes too. 10/10 scent for mee!!"

"Very interesting and appealing scent from my limited experience! The opening is delicious. For me, it evokes imagery of church pews, incense, old, brick castles, and leather books. Haunting and somewhat gothic. I remember thinking it smelled ethereal. Very gender neutral. It is unfortunately incompatible with my skin chemistry, so I’m unsure how it’s supposed to read once it’s fully bloomed on skin. To solve this problem, I’m spraying it on my clothes instead. Be mindful of the indolic base notes. If you know those notes don’t work for your skin chemistry, manage your expectations before buying. Personally, I still think the opening is worth it. For those who don’t know, indolic notes are polarizing. They react very differently depending on who’s wearing them, and people end up either loving them or hating them. Might be smart to buy a sample first."

"sooo much depth to this. opens up with the smell of lowkey like grandma perfume, then opens up into dark incense, warm musk, and bright florals. reminiscent of a combination of nosferatu, coeur noir, and dirty patchouli by heretic. love the atomizer. like a catholic church. gorgeous"

stay all day!

"Okay, gonna open with the negative: mini purse spray? TERRIBLE packaging. Both the Haunted Souls and Leather mini purse sprays leaked; not enough that there's noticeable missing product but every single spray was sticky and smelled like those two. I expect better packaging from such a well-established brand, especially on a product that's intended for travel. The scent itself is amazing. It smells incredibly similar to another perfume or cologne I've smelled but couldn't place it. If you're worried about reviews that mention an alcohol scent, don't be - that's what happens when you sniff any of them straight from the bottle. It dissipates in seconds after spraying. I had to wash all my bottles, and I sprayed this one on my towel to check the scent - it's been 3 days and I can still smell it! It mellows really nicely into an almost dusty or powdery version of itself, where the myrrh is the most noticeable for me. I also got Myrrh to combine with it (Myrrh? Myrrh-DER!) and I think Myrrh, Haunted Souls + a touch of Earthworm will give a perfect "old church basement" kind of vibe."

"Okay smell"

"This scent is incredibly strong, I had to get it off my skin before I got a headache. The scent profile in theory sounded amazing, but there's a really strong foreground smell that I just really wasn't digging. If this smell had been half the intensity I may have liked this one better. Hoping my dad will like this one as I'll be gifting it away."

let it macerate?

"when i first got this perfume probably about a year ago now, i thought it smelled way too masculine and it had a slight sulfur smell to it. after going back and applying it now, it smells a lot more gender neutral and i'm bot smelling that sulfur smell anymore."

"smells clean in a strange way and familiar"

Ancient but also somehow youthful

"I wasn’t sure when I first smelled it but now I’m obsessed. (I’m not a huge fan of patchouli but I don’t think it’s as strong as the other reviewers seem to. ) Imagine you’re wandering through the woods and you walk into an old abandoned church that still smells like perfume from a long time ago. That’s what this reminds me of. Incredible longevity. Love to spray it on my sheets and PJs. Blind bought the tiny size but will definitely get more once it runs out."
