Reviews

"Very smoky nice lava scent"

Jessica (5/5)

"I love this scent so much and my partner is obsessed with it, whenever they wear it I’m always like what did you wear today it smells really good! If I can’t find it on my fragrance stand then I know that they took it to work with them. It has become a favorite for both of us, I like to add some Hawaiian vanilla for a fun little pop of sweetness."

Hotel Soap

"It has a clean, sandy/powdery cedar scent with undertones of tropical fruit. Like the soap at a resort or in a hotel. It's not personally for me and it seems like something probably marketed towards a retired couple in their later years. I'd just spray it in my bathroom if I were hosting a guest."

a lot to lava

"This scent has a rare quality of transporting me somewhere. There's an earthy, mineral base with just a hint of fruit and floral. It really smells like standing on sun-warmed rocks and catching nearby flowers and fruit on the breeze. I've never been to Hawai'i but the concept and the fragrance seem to match up."

Pumice and flowers

"Interesting concept. Definitely a nice mineral stony smell. Dry. Warm. With flowers near by. I bet if I add Dirt to it it will be more on the mark. That said, it's lovely."

Fire and spice

"I never smelled lava rock but this is what laval rocks should smell like. Hot, fiery, mysterious smell. Love it."

Spicy, warm mineral depth... one of the best

"I wrote a review for this already, which seems to have disappeared... So I had to come back and explain how this may be my favorite Demeter scent of all. Both my husband and I love its warm blend of minerals, wood, musk, and spice. The name Lava Rock feels accurate. A very tasteful, exotic scent that works well for both women and men. Will always reorder to have a supply on hand :-)"

Probably my favorite Demeter Scent. And unisex!

"Both my husband and I wear this, and we liked the mini sampler so much, we asked Santa Claus to gift us a big spray bottle last Christmas. It is a complex aroma that is earthy, spicy, woody, and warm, with sufficient lasting power and not too sweet. This is the one that we will keep coming back to :-)"

Spicy incense

"Although someone mentioned it didn't have the mineral notes of actual rock, I was secretly hoping they were wrong, because... isn't that the best part of rock smell? But they were right, no minerals! There is a flower in there, just like the photo shows, but it's just a tiny hint, just like the photo shows... What I was really surprised about was how masculine it was. The hint of flower wasn't enough to make it feminine. I think it's definitely unisex, but girls are usually more willing to wear men's scents than the other way around - - which means unisex lean more masculine, and this one follows that pattern. I personally find it too masculine for me. I would 100% categorize it under incense smells, like Sandalwood. It's spicey, if by "spicey" you mean Indian food (not cumin, though) or Tibetan incense. It's a great smell for earthy, peaceful personalities. Mellow, a little sweet, calm and relaxing, but I'd prefer it on my boyfriend or just as a room spray, like an alternative to incense."

Favorite

"This is easily my favorite scent. If you've ever been in a garden with scoria or seen the lava fields of Hawaii, you'll know the accuracy. There are notes of oxidized iron, fresh air, and a background musk. It's everything I could ask for in a perfume and I even have male friends who like to borrow this scent from me when they visit. It's definitely unisex."
