The Scent: We're heading for a wedding.......... Neroli Oil is better known as Orange Blossom as it comes from the white blossoms of the bitter orange tree which originated in China. It was best known in the US as the wedding flower of earlier days. It is a medium floral, both slightly sweet and slightly powdery, and, of course, displays hints of orange.
The Inspiration: Neroli oil was discovered in the late 1600's and was thought to be named after the 16th century Italian Princess Anne-Marie of Nerola because she used it as her perfume and the Italian aristocracy followed suit. The oil is purported to have sedative and antidepressant qualities as well! (You might need those after you get married.)

"I purchased this based on the Demeter description, which associates this fragrance with orange blossom, which is my favorite scent. This smells nothing like orange blossom....it is warm, earthy and masculine. I was immediately struck by a tobacco scent....the leaf, not smoke. The "citrus" is almost parallel to or even a bit overpowered by the tobacco scent. I'm not sure why other reviews are calling this sweet because I'm not getting any sweet off of this. I'm getting orange peel. Not fresh, not clean...just an earthy citrus. It reminds me of being in a cigar bar. This is best suited for people who prefer a warm fragrance with a masculine edge. Overall, a pleasant fragrance that would work for a man or a woman. I purchased the diffuser oil which come in a bottle that only accommodates four reeds, so it's best suited to a small room unless you transfer it to a larger jar and buy more diffuser sticks. As is, I can't smell it unless I'm literally on top of it."
"I get very bad migraines so it's not easy for me to find a fragrance that won't trigger a headache and that I like. I cannot handle perfume that's too floral, too sweet, too strong or too anything for that matter. I do have Clean Skin & it's nice but I don't feel like I'm wearing a fragrance; it's more like the after smell of a nice soap. Oud is perfect for me but sometimes I want something a little more floral/feminine and Neroli fits the bill wonderfully! Neroli, is so light and pretty. It's slightly sweet with a hint of citrus & if I close my eyes I would swear I'm standing in the middle of an orange grove (in China? lol). I bought the roll on oil which is nice because I can gauge how much I'm putting on unlike sprays. It's been years since I've been able to wear perfume!
