"love this scent"

natalia (5/5)

Lily-like

"Demeter's Ylang-Ylang opens with a medicinal smell like chloroseptic throat spray. It quickly fades within a minute to a big, fat lily scent. To really get the heady polleny type of lily, like other reviewers mentioned, I ordered Honeysuckle and Beeswax as well. Yes, it's stargazer Lily. It does smell a bit earthy but the lily is all I really get. To me, Ylang Ylang should have a powdery sweet earthy smell and I'm not quite getting it. I know that Ylang Ylang blends well with sweet orange, rose geranium, lime, spearmint, lemongrass, and cedarwood scents. I use that blend of essential oils regularly and get zero hint of lily, only the sweetness and powderiness. I will be trying to create more blends with this Ylang-Ylang but so far it has me stumped."

heady, lovely, use sparingly

"This is beautiful, but it's A LOT. It's a single note of a powerful flower essence. AFAIK, no perfumer uses this alone, it's blended and used with a light hand. It's old school gorgeous. Every time I go to put it on, I think, "Oh, I'll find something to layer it with," and I just can't get to the next note. It feels like blending Liz Taylor with something. As if."

Good on its own. Great for layering.

"It is good on its own, however I am mainly reviewing to confirm the layering of ylang, honeysuckle, and beeswax to create a perfect stargazer lily."

The search for the perfect stargazer lily scent ends now.

"Pro tip, lily lovers who can't find the perfect lily perfume no matter what they try. Ylang Ylang + honeysuckle + beeswax. Layer em. Just try it, trust me."

lilies and paint

"Unique and different, but not exactly pretty: that's the best way to describe this fragrance."

Atypical floral

"Not your typical floral scent. It's delicate, green-leaf-and-herbal-tea-like, and soothing. There's beauty in its simple scent. This scent seems to suggest the flower or its plant may have medical usefulness. I think it could layer very well with other floral scents. Strong at first, but it grew on me after first try."
